The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has recently announced that a total of 1,07,218 seats are available in 171 engineering colleges for the year 2025-26. When and how will you get a seat?

The counseling process for engineering seats in Telangana has started. The process of web option entry under TGEAPCET-2025 (Telangana Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test) has started from 7 July 2025 and will continue till 10 July. Apart from this, the last date for certificate verification was 8 July. If you have not filled the web options yet, then hurry up, because there is a chance to get admission in a good college and course in the first phase itself.

Commissioner of Technical Education and Convener of TGEAPCET-2025 Sridevsena has advised that students should choose as many options as possible. This will increase the chances of getting a seat in their favorite college and course.

Which course has the most seats?

This year, the highest demand in engineering is for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). A total of 76,795 seats are under the Convener quota, out of which 26,150 seats are for CSE alone. This is followed by 12,495 seats for CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and 10,125 seats for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).

Some specific courses like Artificial Intelligence, Automobile Engineering, and Mechanical (Mechatronics) have fewer seats, between 30-42 only. If you are interested in these courses, decide your priority quickly.

College distribution

• Private colleges: There are 99,610 seats in 148 private engineering colleges, out of which 69,727 seats are under the convener quota.
• University colleges: There are 5,808 seats available in 21 university colleges. These include 3,210 seats in 9 colleges of JNTUH and 630 seats in 2 colleges of Osmania University.
• Convener quota: 70% of the total seats i.e. 76,795 seats will be filled under the convener quota.

• Seat allotment: The first phase of seat allotment will be done by 18 July. After this, students will have to self-report to the college between 18 and 22 July by paying the tuition fee.
• Second phase: If you do not get a seat in the first phase, the second phase will start from 25 July.
