TRAI new rule Now SIM card will remain active for just Rs 20 know how
TRAI's new rule: In today's era, mobile SIM card has become our everyday need. Be it Jio, Airtel, VI, or BSNL, everyone has to recharge to keep their SIM card active. But now TRAI's new rule has ended this hassle. Under this new rule, instead of heavy recharge plans every month, you will have to keep a balance of only Rs 20, and your SIM card will remain active. This rule is no less than a gift for those users who used to be worried about keeping their secondary SIM card active.

Now the need for minimum recharge is over, keeping SIM active has become easy

Earlier, users had to do a minimum recharge of about Rs 199 every month to keep their SIM card active. However, TRAI has made it easier and implemented a rule which applies to all telecom operators. Now with a prepaid balance of just Rs 20, you can keep your SIM active for 90 days.

What is TRAI's new rule?

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has implemented the Automatic Number Retention Scheme. Under this scheme:

- If you have a balance of Rs 20 in your SIM card, your number will not be closed even after 90 days.

- After 90 days, Rs 20 will be deducted from your account, and the validity of the SIM will increase for 30 days.

- This process will continue as long as there is balance in your account.

Grace period will also be available

If the balance in your account runs out, you will get a grace period of 15 days. During this time, if you recharge, your SIM card will be activated again. But if recharge is not done even in 15 days, your SIM card will be deactivated.

Which users will benefit the most?

1. Secondary SIM card users: This rule will prove to be very beneficial for those who keep their second SIM only for backup.

2. Users with low usage: Those whose SIM card is only for incoming calls, they will no longer need to do heavy recharge every month.

3. BSNL and other low-cost plan users: In small towns and rural areas, where people want to keep the SIM active at a low cost, this rule has brought relief for them.
