PARIS, France The National Football League is officially taking its global entertainment strategy to the next level. The NFL announced today that Grammy Award-winning international superstar Burna Boy will headline the halftime show for the league’s historic first-ever regular-season game in France.
The landmark matchup, featuring a powerhouse battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints, is scheduled to take place at the iconic Stade de France on October 25, 2026.

A Historic Fusion of Gridiron and Global Beats

By securing the Nigerian singer-songwriter, popularly known as the “African Giant,” the NFL is bridging the gap between American football culture and global Afrobeats. Burna Boy is no stranger to making history at the Stade de France; he previously sold out the massive 80,000-seat stadium during his groundbreaking solo concert in April 2025.
“The NFL is global, and music is global,” league representatives noted during the announcement. Bringing a globally renowned performer to Paris underscores the NFL’s commitment to making its international fixtures major cultural events, mirroring the spectacle of the domestic Super Bowl halftime shows.

The NFL’s Expanding European Footprint

While London and Germany have become staple destinations for the NFL International Series, France marks a massive new territory for gridiron expansion. The choice of the Steelers and the Saints brings two historic franchises with massive worldwide followings to the French capital.
For the Saints, the trip to Paris holds a unique cultural connection given the French heritage of New Orleans, while the Steelers bring one of the most recognizable brands in all of professional sports to a brand-new European fanbase.
With Burna Boy handling the entertainment and two iconic franchises hitting the turf, October 2026 is already shaping up to be a historic month for international sports.
